About me
Elaine Laberge, Ph.D., M.A., is the Executive Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) of Northern BC. With a Ph.D. in Education and a Master's in Sociology, she brings over 15 years of leadership experience in mental health, social policy, and advocacy. Laberge is committed to expanding access to mental health and substance use services across the region, emphasizing equity, community engagement, and systemic change. A sociologist and researcher, Laberge specializes in the intersections of mental health, intergenerational poverty, and social determinants of health. Her work examines how systemic barriers in education, housing, and food security impact well-being, guiding her efforts to implement evidence-based programs and policies that foster resilience and inclusion.
