About me
Tara Thompson is the Community Engagement Coordinator at Okanagan Regional Library in the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the nsyilxcən speaking people (Kelowna, BC). She has over 29 years of experience in libraries and specializes in accessibility, adult services, and community engagement. Tara has an MLIS, a bachelor’s degree in international relations, and a Library Technician diploma. She is committed to continuous learning and understanding diverse experiences to foster inclusive environments. Tara believes that “community is not a spectator sport” so she volunteers in different roles including most recently for the Invictus Games in Vancouver. Most of all she loves to link people to the information and connections they are looking for.
